EatFish — Dive Into Freshness

Privacy Policy

Effective 20 August 2026. This policy covers the EatFish mobile app, the website at eatfish.co, and the EatFish WhatsApp service.

1. Who we are

EatFish is operated by LIAMFABI FOODS PRIVATE LIMITED, 183, W.G.C Road, Thoothukudi – 628002, Tamil Nadu, India. In this policy “we”, “us” and “EatFish” mean that company. We are the data fiduciary for the personal data described below.

EatFish connects buyers with fishermen, aquaculture farmers, seafood suppliers and retail sellers. Some data is collected because the marketplace cannot function without it — a seller cannot be found without a location, and an order cannot be delivered without an address.

2. What we collect

Account details you give us. Name, mobile number, gender, age, and optionally an email address, profile photo and preferred language. Registration and login use a one-time password sent to your mobile number.

If you register as a buyer. Your buyer category, delivery address, pincode, state, district and city, and the approximate coordinates of the address you select. Ward members additionally provide a ward number. Business buyers may provide a business name, FSSAI licence number and GST number.

If you register as a seller or producer. Your seller category and sub-category, business name, address, state, district, city and village, and where applicable a fisherman ID number, fishermen society and coastal district. Sellers also upload photographs of their products and store.

Transactions. Orders, pre-orders and enquiries you place or receive, and the reference numbers of payments you make.

WhatsApp. If you use the EatFish WhatsApp service, we store your WhatsApp number and the messages exchanged with our business number, so the conversation can continue across sessions.

Device data. A push notification token, and your chosen app language.

Location. With your permission, your device location is used to pre-fill an address and to show nearby sellers. We request location only while the app is open. The app does not collect location in the background.

We do not collect government identity documents beyond the fisherman and business registration numbers listed above, and we do not collect biometric data.

3. How we use it

  • To create and secure your account, and to sign you in by one-time password.
  • To show buyers the sellers, products and prices near them.
  • To place, fulfil and support orders, pre-orders and enquiries.
  • To take payment for orders and, where applicable, membership fees.
  • To send service messages about your account, orders and payments — by SMS, push notification or WhatsApp.
  • To respond to your questions and complaints.
  • To detect and prevent fraud and misuse, and to meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising by third parties.

4. Payments

Payments are processed by Razorpay. Card numbers, UPI credentials and bank details are entered on Razorpay’s systems and are never stored on EatFish servers. We retain only the payment reference, amount, status and time, so we can match a payment to your order or membership. Razorpay processes that data under its own privacy policy.

5. Who we share it with

We share the minimum necessary with:

  • The other side of your transaction. When you place an order or enquiry, the seller sees the name, contact number and delivery address needed to fulfil it. When a buyer contacts a seller, the seller’s business details and location are shown to the buyer.
  • Razorpay — payment processing.
  • Meta Platforms (WhatsApp Business Platform) — delivery of WhatsApp messages you exchange with us.
  • Google — maps and geocoding for address selection, and Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications.
  • Delivery partners engaged to complete an order.
  • Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose.

6. How long we keep it

We keep account data while your account is active. Transaction and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, which in India is generally eight years, even after an account is closed. WhatsApp conversation history is kept only as long as needed to run the service and handle disputes.

7. Your rights, and deleting your account

You may ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it. You may also withdraw consent for optional processing — for example by turning off location permission in your device settings, which stops location collection but means you will have to type addresses manually.

To delete your account and data: email privacy@eatfish.co from your registered address, or send a written request to the postal address in clause 9, including the mobile number your account uses. We will verify that the request comes from you and complete deletion within 30 days.

Deleting your account removes your profile, contact details, addresses and uploaded photographs. Transaction records are retained for the statutory period described in clause 6, and are unlinked from your profile where the law allows.

8. Security, children, and changes

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

EatFish is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has registered, contact us and we will remove the account.

If we change this policy we will update the effective date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.

9. Contact and grievances

For any privacy question, or to exercise the rights in clause 7, contact our Grievance Officer:
